Our HusbandOur Husband by Stephanie Bond
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

When I first started this book I thought it would be just a funny, quirky book. But as I ventured into it more I found the suspense and the surprise ending really threw me off. How one man actually managed to keep three wives and managed to get one pregnant without all the others knowing is in itself a little out there. But as I read through the book I began to find myself sympathizing with all three. It's a cute story with a bit of laughter, a bit of suspense and a dash of anger for the man who created the situation. But then again like they say "everything happens for a reason".

Amazing and well worth the read. We all live our lives thinking nothing bad can happen but it only takes "15 seconds" for that to change. As Dr Steadman found out, your life can take a different road when you least expect it. What you thought you knew can be turned around so quickly. From being pulled over for a traffic incident to being accused of not one but many murders in a short time. When no one believes you except the woman you spoke to who answers phones. So you and her (Carrie) hook up to bring down the one person who is changing the course of your life.

When his daughter gets thrown into the story and her life is at stake, all bets are off and Henry is now racing against time and the fate of his daughter to not only catch this crazy person but also to save the life of his daughter. The amazing way this story comes all together is just mind blowing. A great read.

I often wonder about the difference between a hoarder and someone who is sentimental over things. Things that have memories attached to them. But over a lifetime, those things can accumulate. And so it did for Trish. Her sister Mary on the other hand was quite the opposite. Two sisters greatly affected by their family and mother in particular. The deep secrets that were buried only magnified their being. If you dont know anything about hoarding...this is a must read....

While I thoroughly enjoyed this trilogy I found the last book a bit slow and drawn out in certain sections. From time to time it did pick up and the ending was interesting and different.

I would definitely read any future books by E J James because while very erotic this book also portrayed a beautiful story of love and compassion above and beyond the ordinary --- taking it to the extraordinary!!

The 2nd book of this trilogy is definitely more romantic. Can two erotic people really find love? Ana and Christian seem to do it. But alas are there truly happy endings? Especially since the author leaves us hanging in the end wanting to know "what evil lurks beyond?"

Ready for Book #2.......Surprising enough there is a lovely story behind this book..its not all sex. I feel sorry for the main characters - Ana and Christian - because they definitely have issues...but then again who doesnt. They are two people who cant seem to control themselves and think with their bodies and not their heads....Book 1 leaves you hanging and you must go on to Book 2....will their lives get better or worst?

From the time Sean helped the two women in the parking lot, to getting involved in the mystery that surrounded them - through the good times and the bad times....this action packed story had me going....I was totally surprised by the ending...not your usual love story either. Looking forward to more of Lowe's books.

Wasn't sure I would enjoy this book. You see I am more into mysteries and this clearly wasn't one of my usual genres. But I got hooked on Becky and enamored with the plantation in Jamaica and all its beauty
I especially love Olga's diary as I too love to write in journals. Her diary took you onto her life not only in Jamaica but also her adventures in London. She made you feel like you were right there
with her. This book combined love of family, sadness, and a special beauty in the words of a young girl. It took you into the beauty of jamaica and i felt i was right there while reading about it.

Not only was Olga's diary a well written story but her letters home are inspirational and uplifting. I would definitely recommend this book if you are looking for a change in the genre you usually read.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Originally not my kind of book but drew me in Bc since I work in a school where autistic children study I was curious to find out how this man John coped with Aspergers. While his story held me I found it dragged in the area of what he felt he could accomplish and what he did accomplish. Granted his home life wasn't supportive of his diagnosis and apparently left unsupervised it was amazing how he made his own decisions and was able to find out all he did through books.

This book read like a story of a boy who grew up in a disfunctional family. Several times I actually thought to stop reading because it wasn't telling me about Aspergers. It just read like an autobiography...But I stuck to it and after 80% of reading it. I was st the point of not only learning more but also the relationship the book had with the author. He apparently didnt find out about his Aspergers until later in life.

The end of the book justified the length in that John came to terms with what he had. and how his family was still a part of him no matter what happened.

My first impression of this book was well, ok, another love triangle. Allie, Tessa and Sam..but the further I got into the book the more i realized this was not just another love story. The grandma, Pheobe had her own love story and each character had their own ghosts to battle....what kept me reading this book was the fact I didnt know which way Sam was going - would he give Allie the divorce, go with Tessa, did he really love Allie, would he leave his daughter, Meghan behind - this was a great book that showed "grandma knows best" keeping a family together. Definitely will read her other books....

The Lovely ShoesThe Lovely Shoes by Susan Shreve
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book was a first-read Goodreads book I won and when I received it and read the inside of the cover page it was classified as "middle-school fiction". While I am into fiction, I am prone to pick up books of mystery fiction, not middle-school. But then I did win it and felt I owed the author a review. So I sat down, read it in a few days and............loved it.

It's a lovely story about Franny who has a crippled leg and is entering high school with such a low self esteem because of her leg. Children of all ages are cruel and Franny suffers because of it.....but....her mother is this amazing woman who I feel loves her daughter so much, that she writes to Signor Ferragamo - regarding making shoes for her daughter....and when invited to go to Italy, this becomes a story that changes the life of Franny...turning her into a self confident young lady. The story is based in part on a true story of the author, Susan Shreve....Well worth reading..

While I was intrigued following the lives of Brynn, Allison, Charm and Christopher and amazed on how intertwined this story was, I couldnt help but feel a little sad for the outcome. Actually I did have tears in my eyes at the end. This book showed how the choices we make take us down different paths that make us wonder where we would have ended up if that path was not taken.

The question is "How far would you go for your sister?" The story covers a bond between sisters who only had each other and how their actions touched other people.

I had to give this book 5 stars because I could not put it down once I got involved in the lives of these people ... all the way down to little Joshua....This is definitely a must read book!
