The Two-Family House

The Two-Family House: A Novel The Two-Family House: A Novel by Lynda Cohen Loigman
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Imagine a two story house with two brothers and their families living in it. Great idea...right....that's what happened to Mort and Abe. They got married and lived in a two family house. One upstairs, one downstairs. Their families shared everything....they each had children...one all boys, the other all girls. Until the day of the blizzard when the men were away and the women used a midwife to deliver their babies...one a girl, the other a boy. And from that day forward the story takes us through the trials and tribulations of two families living together. From the onset you knew something was amiss...the family that had all boys...got their girl. The family that had all girls...got their boy. But what exactly happened during the birthing time? And how did this affect the families down the line...when the children grew up...can a secret really break up a family?

This story was a "cant put down book" type of story ... showing the love and extent a family will go through to "help" one another. Great story!
